*LINUX ENGINEER*
Job Description :
- Act as second line support for Linux issues
- Provide new IT solutions for local business problems
- Translate global standards into local specific implementations.
Requesting information, guidance or assistance from central teams when
needed
- Safeguard system performance, analyze trends and highlight
anticipated issues to management
- Maintaining and further development of the bank's Linux Terminal
Server (LTS) concepts
- Writing documentation
- Controlling access permissions and privileges
- Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery plans
- Capacity review
- Communicating regularly with technical, applications and
operational staff to ensure system integrity and security.
- Daily monitoring and maintenance of branch LTS server
- Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including
patch management services.
- Complete security audits on a routine offerings.
- Provide customer support via telephone, e-mail, knowledge base
program and other tools.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required :
- 5 + years Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
- Red Hat Network software distribution experience is required.
- Knowledge on Centrify Direct Control – Centralized Authentication
and Access Control Leveraging Microsoft Active Directory
- Windows server active directory, DCHP is a plus
- Solid experience with multi-server environment / deployments
- Ability to gather requirements and help designing and implement
appropriate solutions.
- Strong process oriented experience in terms of implementation and
completion
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers (networking
and storage)
- Troubleshooting
- Ability to work well with users and in a cross-team environment
and to mentor within teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (English verbal and
written) skills
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other standard office
tools.
*SYSTEM ENGINEER*
Job Description :
- Design of generic IT Infrastructure services (e.g Active
Directory, DNS, DCHP, File & Print services)
- Translate global standards into local specific implementations.
Requesting information, guidance or assistance from central teams when
needed
- Providing practical solutions for new business needs while
keeping within client standards and maintain an overall manageable,
structured environment. Working together with operational IT teams for the
implementation of these new systems ad ensure operational handover.
Improving current infrastructure where needed
- Safeguard system performance, analyze trends and highlight
anticipated issues to management
- Handling support escalation from operational teams.
- Ensuring that all local IT infrastructure documentation is
accurately maintained.
Knowledge / Skill / Experience required :
- Minimum of 7 yrs working experienced of which at least 3 years in
systems engineering, focused on design.
- Red Hat or MCSE Certified
- Good Experience in MS Windows 2003 server, Active Directory, DNS,
NTP, DCHP, File & Print services, Linux OS and Linus-Windows
inter-operability (SAMBA, NFS)
- Experience with HP Server design (server dimensioning, raid
configurations)
- Familiar with Microsoft SCCM, SCOM
- Familiar basic networking knowledge (routing, firewalls, TCP/IP
protocol)
- Keeping track of developments within one's field of expertise and
outside it.
- Capable of thinking at tactical and strategic level with the in
dept expertise of a technical specialist.
